An original, one-of-a-kind botanical bas-relief created by Jocelyn Kempe using a living plant gathered at a particular moment in time.
The delicate stems, leaves, and rounded flower heads are preserved in plaster, capturing details that would otherwise disappear. The finished relief has been professionally mounted upon a silk mat and presented within a timeworn oval French frame with black and gilt detailing.
The contrast between the quiet white plaster, tactile silk, and beautifully aged frame gives the work the feeling of an old European botanical specimen—something collected, preserved, and passed down.
