F R A N C E and its {magical} Light
As a photographer I am always chasing light. Waking up at 3:30 am with the birds to walk out to the vines to capture the first light, the moody kind, the sort that drapes over your shoulder like a soft cashmere shawl when there’s a bit of freshness to the air. This kind of light literally takes my breathe away and returns it in the most beautiful way. It is, if I might say, magical.
The way the sun rises over the vines in France is just something so special. The vines glistening in the early morning sun mixed with the dew is just beyond what my eyes could handle at times.
I just returned from a sourcing trip for my shop and photography studio. Little did I know it was a creative source that spoke to me, encouraging me to continue to follow the light and never stop seeking the one thing that got me into this art - a healing beauty.
We can choose to see beauty in everything. A difficult conversation can be uncomfortable AND at the same time, healing. You will see this word come up a lot in my work and is the basis of all my work. I cannot help but see everything as an opportunity to heal the wounds that we all carry and hold in our hearts.
The light in France was incredibly healing to me. It is soft. It is welcoming. It is very simply put, understanding. There is not harshness to the rays, the trees shelter and capture the glow to the point where I am left speechless.
I found many new, unique and never seen before items for you, my customer. I hope you love the things that are to come. The list of potential offerings is long and robust. There is so much I want to share with you and all will happen in due time.
In the meantime, please enjoy these captures from my trip to the Bordeaux area. I can hardly wait to return in September for more glorious light.
All my best,
Jocelyn xx
